Solid Malaysian hardwoods
Sourced from licenced Selangor and Pahang yards: chengal, kempas, merbau and meranti, kiln-dried to local humidity before any cut.
For thirteen years we have been building sofas, dining sets, wardrobes and office pieces from kiln-dried Malaysian timber. Every commission is drawn, finished and delivered by the same small team.
Our work begins with a measured site visit and a long conversation. We do not stock pieces — we draw, prototype, finish and install each commission in sequence.

Mortise-and-tenon, dovetailed drawers and floating panels. Screws go where they belong; the rest is wood meeting wood.
Low-sheen oils, hardwax and water-based lacquers. We sample three finishes on your chosen species before committing.
The same team that planes the boards is on site when your piece arrives. Wall fixings, levelling and final touch-ups included.

Joltwave Bespoke was set up in 2013 by a third-generation furniture maker who trained in Muar and worked for ten years in a contract joinery shop before opening his own bench in Cheras. The team is still small — six people including the founder — and that is on purpose.
You will meet the person who draws your piece, you will speak with the person who joins it, and on the day of delivery they will be the ones lifting it through your door.
Read the studio storyHalf-hour conversation about the room, the use, the budget and the species you respond to.
We measure your space, photograph adjacencies and walk through the route the finished piece will travel.
Plan, elevation and 3D render, plus three finish samples on your chosen timber for sign-off.
Itemised quote covering material grade, finish, hardware and delivery. Half on confirmation, half on delivery.
Six to ten weeks of joinery, finishing and curing. You are welcome at the workshop at any stage.
Our team installs and walks you through care. A ten-year structural warranty kicks in the day you sign off.
“Three years in, the dining table still looks the day we installed it. The team measured twice, told me honestly when my first finish choice would not age well, and built something I will hand down.”
“We commissioned the reception joinery and a meeting table for our paediatric clinic. They worked around our opening hours and the install was tidy. Patients comment on the wood every week.”
“I had an awkward old condo bedroom and they drew a wardrobe that finally used the corner. Every drawer slides on the first try, two years later.”
Most projects fall between six and ten weeks from the day we receive the deposit. A simple coffee table can be ready in four; a fitted wardrobe with mirror or glass elements usually runs twelve. Lead times are always confirmed in writing before you commit.
Show surfaces and structural members are solid. We will sometimes use birch ply on internal carcasses for wardrobes (it is dimensionally more stable) and veneers on very large flush doors where solid wood would warp. Every quotation states the material for each component clearly.
Yes. We have collaborated with around thirty design studios across the Klang Valley. We will redraw to construction detail, advise on grain selection and species, and coordinate site visits with the design team.
Ten years on structural joinery for solid-wood pieces, three years on hardware and one year on hand-applied finishes (which we will refresh free of charge if a panel ages unevenly). Full warranty terms are issued on delivery.
Regularly. We have delivered to Penang, Ipoh, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Kuantan and Kuching. Delivery is quoted separately per project and includes installation by our own team rather than a third-party courier.
About forty minutes. You will see current commissions on the bench, look at species and finish samples, and have a coffee while we discuss your room. There is no obligation and we do not high-pressure quote on the spot — a written quotation follows by email within a week.
Fifty percent on confirmation of drawings (which covers material purchase and lock-in of bench time), and fifty percent on delivery once you have signed off the installed piece. We invoice in MYR and accept bank transfer or cheque.
