Terms and Conditions.

These are the standard terms under which we quote, build, deliver and warranty a commission. Your signed drawings and our written quotation, taken together with this page, form the agreement for any project.

1. Parties

“We”, “our”, and “Joltwave” refers to Joltwave Bespoke Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian private limited company registered as 202401034892 (1638295-X). “You” and “the client” refers to the individual or organisation commissioning a piece.

2. Quotation and acceptance

Quotations are valid for thirty days from the date of issue. A quotation becomes a binding agreement when you sign the accompanying drawings and pay the deposit.

Any change requested after the deposit is paid — species, dimension, finish, hardware — will be quoted as a written variation and may affect the lead time.

3. Payment

Our standard terms are 50% on confirmation of drawings (the deposit) and 50% on delivery. Larger commissions may be split into three or four progress payments by mutual agreement.

All amounts are quoted and invoiced in Malaysian Ringgit. We accept bank transfer and cheque. We do not accept post-dated cheques, credit cards or staged payments after delivery.

4. Lead time and timeline

The lead time stated in our quotation is the working bench time from receipt of deposit to ready-for-delivery date. We make a best-efforts commitment to that date.

Delays caused by client decisions (extended drawing-revision cycles, change requests, finish-sample re-selections) extend the lead time correspondingly. Delays caused by the workshop, including staffing or material availability, will be communicated as soon as known and any compensation discussed openly.

5. Materials and tolerances

Solid wood is a natural material. Colour, grain pattern, knot character and small inclusions vary even within a single board, and will not match a sample exactly. We will show you the actual boards selected for your commission before final cutting where possible.

Standard joinery tolerance on solid-wood pieces is ±3mm on overall dimensions and ±0.5mm on drawer-fit clearances. Pieces requiring tighter tolerances (for example, alignment with existing built-in joinery) will be quoted with the tighter tolerance noted explicitly.

6. Site conditions and access

You are responsible for ensuring the route from the building entrance to the installation point is clear and large enough for the piece on the day of delivery. We will measure this route during the site survey, but if circumstances change before delivery (refurbishment in the lift, scaffolding in the stairwell), please notify us.

7. Warranty

We warrant the structural joinery of solid-wood pieces for ten years from the date of delivery. Hardware (hinges, runners, locks) is warranted for three years. Hand-applied finishes are warranted for one year, during which we will refresh any panel that ages unevenly free of charge.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, third-party movers, unauthorised modification, or unusual environmental conditions (flooding, fire, sustained exposure to humidity outside 50–85% RH).

8. Title and risk

Title to the commissioned piece passes to you on receipt of the final payment. Risk passes to you on delivery and acceptance.

9. Intellectual property

Drawings prepared for your commission remain the intellectual property of Joltwave. You receive a perpetual licence to use them for ownership, insurance and resale of the specific piece commissioned.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Malaysia and the courts of Kuala Lumpur shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
