Types of commission

The pieces commercial clients ask us for, in order of frequency.

Reception desks. The first impression for your clinic or boutique — built to your reception flow, with concealed monitor mounts, a writing ledge for clients and storage for everything you would rather not see from the entrance.

Meeting tables. Six to fourteen seats, with cable grommets sized to your video conferencing kit and an apron deep enough to mount a power strip out of sight.

Workstations. Single or partner desks, drawer pedestals on castors so they can move with the layout, and matching shelving walls in the same species.

Joinery walls and fitted cabinetry. For studios, boutiques and consulting rooms where the walls themselves do storage and display.

Why solid wood at work

Three reasons commercial clients keep coming back.

01

Refinishable surface

A solid-wood meeting table can be sanded and refinished after five years and look new again. Office board takes a scratch and lives with it for the rest of its life.

02

Acoustic warmth

Solid wood absorbs more sound than melamine. In a small clinic or studio the difference between a wood-clad room and a board-clad room is genuinely audible.

03

Client perception

Clients notice a real-wood reception within seconds of walking in. Several practice owners have told us their reviews picked up after we delivered.

How a commercial commission runs

  1. Site visit during your trading hours, so we see how the space is actually used.
  2. Coordinate with your interior designer, IT vendor and contractor — we will work directly to their construction drawings if you have them.
  3. Three finish samples on your chosen species so you can see them under your lighting.
  4. Build at the workshop while you keep trading; we deliver and install after hours or on a Sunday.
  5. Walk-through with the team on first morning of trade, so everyone knows how the drawers, cable runs and finishes work.

Fitting out a new office or clinic?

The earlier we’re in the conversation, the better we can coordinate with your electrician and contractor. Send a floor plan and any photographs and we’ll come back with first thoughts in two working days.
